JOB SUMMARY

The Accountant II is an intermediate level Accountant position. This role utilizes specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to assist in preparing financial statements, budgets and financial reporting. The Accountant II provides solutions and recommendations for accounting issues and problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensures accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Assists with compiling financial data in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
  • Prepares all purchase requisitions and purchase orders as requested. Review open purchase order
    report monthly.
  • Analyzes general ledger accounts to identify unusual or irregular transactions.
  • Prepare various invoices using SL Dynamics (MACC, Intercompany, & Wireless Leases).
  • Identifies potential process improvements to increase efficiency in processing or analyzing financial information.
  • Reviews assigned general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
  • Resolves routine to moderately complex accounting problems.
  • Reconciles balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accurate information.
  • Prepares schedules and provides requested information for internal/external auditors.
  • Prepare monthly SRPMIC sales tax remittance reports and reconcile corresponding liability account monthly.
  • Performs accounting steps for monthly closing process.
  • Works with leaders and interacts with internal customers to obtain, clarify and provide facts and information.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory.
  • Performs other related accounting duties as assigned or requested by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in related fields.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an Accountant. Bookkeeping or accounts payable/ accounts receivable experience also required.
  • Must have proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), practices and standards.
  • Knowledge of the applicable laws, regulations, procedures and processes governing the receipt, custody and expenditure of monies.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in accounting software applications.

  • Systems & Software – Microsoft SL Dynamics, PN3 Accounts Payable & Requisitions, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Customer Service – able to personally provide high level of interactive service to targeted customer base/market, building relationships and acting as internal company advocate.
  • Team Orientation & Interpersonal – highly motivated, passionate and creative team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.
