Upgrades Enable Community Members to Stream, Surf, Share & Game Up to 30X Faster

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA – June 18, 2019 – Saddleback Communications, a provider of world-class, fiber-based voice and data communications to business and residential customers in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, has boosted the available speeds for Internet service delivered over its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network up to 500Mbps. The service is available immediately to most residents across the Community, including recent FTTH buildout in Lehi.

The new speeds include:

  • FiberSpeed 100, which delivers 100Mbps download
  • FiberSpeed 250, which delivers 250Mbps download
  • FiberSpeed 500, which delivers 500Mbps download

These new speeds are up to 30 times faster than the existing plans at 15Mbps, 25Mbps and 50Mbps.

According to broadband database BroadbandNow, the bandwidth required for online activities is ratcheting up as follows:

  • Check email and browse the web: 1-5Mbps
  • Stream HD content: 15-25Mbps
  • Stream 4K content and play competitive online games: 40-100Mbps
  • Stream 4K content, play online games and download very large files: 200Mbps or more
